Sunday Worship

From Sunday 22 March (on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Sunday's of the month) we will be providing a short shared act of worship via trinityashby.net

This will take the form of a video. The video will have the look and feel of our website, but have the text we use in our worship services. You can find the video on the homepage of the site.
On the fifth Sundays we will join with the other churches in the Flagstaff Family of churches. The video for this service will appear on our homepage (trinityashby.net) from 12:00 p.m. (midday).

Especially for newcomers

I will be hosting Zoom gatherings at 9am and 11am. Simply click on the time in the previous sentence and follow the instructions. I look forward to meeting you.

On the homepage

The video will be available from the homepage of trinityashby.net all day on Sunday (from 7:00 a.m). We suggest that you access the video at the time you would normally be at church.

Gathering online

It would be wonderful if, while not gathering together in person, we might connect with others we know from church before and after the service. You can do this on the phone or online.

Rather than showing images of the service leaders, or a particular place, we are going show text on the screen and voices.

We will NOT be gathering in our buildings.

Why this way?

Here are some of the reasons we are taking this approach.

Focus

In worship, our focus is on God. To help keep this focus we are providing a distraction free environment.

Sustainablility

We don't know how long we are going to be unable to gather for public worship in our buildings. This sustainable format will, I pray, help us to 'keep on keeping on' in the weeks and months ahead.

Familiarity

By using the styling of our print and web offerings, and the same texts as our printed (and projected) orders of service, we are looking to provide continuty with what we know - alongside new ways of doing things.

Accessibility

Our prayer is that this simple approach will be accessible for people with limited internet access, older devices (i.e. technology), limited vision and hearing, and those who are unfamiliar with some of the newer ways of doing things.

We also pray that this will be a form of service that can, soon, be led by all our current service leaders, from their own homes.

In Summary

In an age of image, we are offering a form of shared worship that is all about words. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. This is central to our faith.

Our prayer is that we will increasingly know that we are the church: The Word lives in us. By whichever means (face-to-face within our households, on the phone or in other ways) we will know that we are the meeting place, where the people we know get to meet God, even in us.

We hope that this simple approach will help you to focus on God, enable us to sustain a new format of worship service, and be somewhat familiar as we live in such unfamiliar times.

We are aiming for wide accessibility, both in who can gather and who can contribute.

Please pray that God will grant us rich Kingdom fruit in this season.

With love in Christ
